Kat Hunter hosts Blizzcon 2008 LIVE in Anaheim!

This weekend at Blizzcon 2008, the even will have a distinct CGS flair. San Francisco's own GM, Kat Hunter, will be there for all the action, along with Geoff Keighley of Spike TV and Game Trailers TV, as well as Becky "Aktrez" Young, creator and face of the Girls Entertainment Network. In addition, CGS shoutcaster and "The World's Loudest Human" Marcus "djWheat" Graham will be shoutcasting the World of Warcraft Arena Tournament, which, along with the Warcraft III and Starcraft Tournaments, will be streamed live on the official Blizzcon website as well as on DirecTV! Kat will also be live blogging the Opening Ceremonies right here at the official OptX website!

Kat had this to say about hosting the event:

"I am a huge Blizzard fan, and have been playing World of Warcraft since the Friends in Family Alpha around 4 years ago, so having the opportunity to host this event for DirecTV is about as exciting as meeting Santa Clause at a Nine Inch Nails concert, on the Moon. Kat Hunter really needs no introduction. A former member of the competitive console gaming team the Frag Dolls, Kat has been involved with gaming not only as a player, but also as a host (Yahoo Games, Game Trailers), and a video producer (AT&T Blue Room Gaming through IGN). Kat currently serves as the General Manager of your San Francisco OptX!

Geoff Keighley

Geoff Keighley has been writing about video games since 1992. He is the host and executive producer of Game Trailers TV (formerly Game Head) on the Spike TV network. He also is a correspondent on "The Electric Playground," on the G4 Network, and writes monthly columns for the Official XBox Magazine and the GameFly Website. His freelance work includes pieces written for the website Kotaku, as well as Entertainment Weekly. He is most notable for his appearance on the Fox News Network during their controversial Mass Effect segment.

Becky "Aktrez" Young

Becky Young is the creator and leading lady of the Girls Entertainment Network, a community created by an all-female staff where males and females alike discuss topics related to entertainment and pop culture, including anime, cosplay, video games, gadgets, and comics. Ms. Young has been involved in gaming in some capacity for the last 7 years, since first starting as Marketing Coordinator for Mythic Games on their famous title, Dark Age of Camelot. She is a recurring guest on "The Loop" segment of Attack of the Show! on G4, and serves as a consultant for companies including Acclaim Games and White Wolf.
