Miximup: Best in the West!

Posted by: kathunter

Chad "Miximup" Neil wins "Best in the West" for College Gaming League

This weekend, Chad "Miximup" Neil won the title of "Best in the West" in the College Gaming League's Forza 2 Motorsport division. Not only is did he beat out LA Complexity's Chavisan for the West Coast title, he will also take home a $2500 Dell gaming laptop, and the right to play against the East Coast champions for "Best in the U.S." in the Autumn Onslaught National Championships in December.

Chad wrote about his experience in his recent blog:

The past couple weeks in my life haven't been the most exciting. I haven't been going out a lot or seen anything exciting. What I have been doing though, is practicing for Dell's College Gaming League. I found out about this tournament from Sackamonjaro and checked it out and noticed that a few CGS players where signed up, so I thought I would give it a shot.

Over the past couple weeks or so, I have been hot lapping with CGS cars on CGS tracks. The great thing about this tournament is that there are no collisions. Speed really rains true in this environment and that is always a plus. When the tournament started, a number of CGS players bowed out due to WCG and I was left standing along with Chavisan in the west coast, and General in the east coast bracket against Walahoshie. In the second round of the final bracket I was able to beat Chavisan in a very close race on maple valley short. This gave me a slight advantage in the final race. I was able to practice the final track Tsukuba for a half hour, while Chavi had to race in the losers bracket on Suzuka West. In the end, it was Chavi and I in the final race. While Chavi put up a good race, my practice paid off and I was able to pull four tenths a lap on him through the entirety of the race. I was able to claim the title of "Best in the West!"

Anyhow, the CGL is a great tournament to enter if you are in college. I was able to win the Alienware Area-51 m15x laptop for winning the grand prize. The reviews on the laptop have been great from what I've heard. Also, Congrats to General for winning in the east coast. There is another CGL coming up next month where you can win another Alienware laptop, a zune, and an all expense paid trip to next years combine and draft. It's definitely something to check out if you are interested in some prizes or getting into CGS. Until next time! Peace.

Congratulations to Chad in this amazing victory, and we will be pulling for you in December!
